LAUREN GERMAN JOINS “FIVE-0” TEAM

LAUREN GERMAN JOINS “FIVE-0” TEAM

The Hawaii Five-0 team is getting a new team member — who may become McGarrett’s (Alex O’Loughlin, below with German) love interest. That would be Happy Town alumna Lauren German (above). She will play in the series regular role of Lori Wilson, a smart and beautiful former Homeland Security officer who has been hand-picked by by Five-0’s new governor  played by Richard T. Jones (second below) to join the Five-0 task force…

German’s character will not just help them fight crime, but also keep them in check on behalf of the governor. German is the latest cast addition for season two which premiers Sept. 19) joining Heroes’ Masi OkaLost‘s Terry O’Quinn (below left) as McGarrett’s Navy Seal trainer, and veteran actor Tom Sizemore who is a internal affairs agent…

JP4 IN THE WORKS BUT WHERE WILL IT FILM?

JP4 IN THE WORKS BUT WHERE WILL IT FILM?

Steven Spielberg tells Comic-Com audience that he’s at work on Jurassic Park 4, a new installment in the dinosaur franchise he launched in 1993

“We have a story, I can happily announce,” Spielberg told the San Diego Convention Center’s Hall crowd. “We have a writer who is writing the treatment and hopefully we are going to make Jurassic Park 4 in all of your foreseeable futures — all of our foreseeable futures – hopefully, in the next two or three years”...

Hawaii has been a favorite location for Spielberg for nearly two decades starting with the first Indian Jones film then part of the first three Jurassic Park sequels…The most recent Indiana Jones film was shot ion the Big Island…

Let’s keep our fingers crossed…

Also at Comic-Com were actors and ABC executives for Hawaii’s newest series, The River who promised that if nothing else the show would be “scary”…”not gory” and will air mid season…The River pilot, which was filmed in Puerto Rico, was shown at Comic-Com…

“We want to reclaim the [horror] genre,” executive producer Zack Estrin said. “A little less Saw, a little more Poltergeist”…Fellow EP Michael Green started off the panel by telling the audience that ABC told him, “Don’t water it down. Really make it scary”…

The River features the “real” footage of a documentary crew that travels to the Amazon River in search of Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood), a TV personality/environmentalist who has gone missing. Emmet’s wife (Leslie Hope) and son (Joe Anderson) accompany the doc crew…That family becomes central to the show. Green told The Hollywood Reporter  “In a weird way, it’s more of a family show than people imagine that it would be. It’s about these characters and this broken family coming together in an extreme environment”…”If you watch a reality show, come on board. If you watch a family show, come on board. If you watch a horror show, come on board”…

Other comments:

Green: “Paranormal Activity scared the piss out of me. I had to turn off Paranormal Activity at about a minute, thirty-five [seconds]… I had to watch it in about five-minute increments after that”…

Estrin: “One of the scariest things that I think of is actually silence. When you’re somewhere and it’s extremely quiet and [then] you hear noises, that scares me”…

Eloise Mumford: “Creepy people. Not like ‘muahahaha’ killing people, just like off”…

Anderson: “People creep me out. … I was always a fan of The Shining. It’s the people, it’s the brain that worries me”…

Hope: “The water! Filming on a river for the show] was scary, but I’m going to get over it!”…

The River begins filming on Oahu in late August…
