“PIRATES'” TURTLE BAY RESORT FILMING WAS “SPOT ON PERFECT”

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ filming at the “Banyan Forest” near the Turtle Bay Resort was “spot on perfect,” crew sources agreed…”The set (for the Mermaid Lagoon) was spectacular and the scenes seemed magical,” another source said…The photos I’ve seen from that filming are amazing for the sets and lighting…The production started filming on Monday, June 19 and finished Friday, June 23…

Not many of the production stayed at the Turtle Bay Bay Resort and then only for the all night shoots the last three days…Star Johnny Depp was in in these scenes, sources said…Since Friday, crew have been breaking down the sets which took about two months to build….

Filming continues this week on the other end of Oahu…

  1. Very cool! Wish I would have made it up there to catch a glimpse of Capt Jack & the mermaids… Where exactly is “the other end of Oahu” where they are filming next?

  2. Thank you for this article and I imagine that the footage is great I have been in Hawaii and it is a beautiful place. You said that filming will still continue. Do you know how long? And star Johnny Depp is still in Hawaii?
