HAWAII FIVE-0 BURIES STEVE MCGARRETT’S FATHER AT PUNCHBOWL

Heidi Montag has been cast in Adam Sandler‘s Hawaii bound comedy Just Go With it which is her first film…Montag starts filming on Monday in Los Angeles but whether she’s coming to Hawaii remains unknown…
What we do know is she will do a cameo role in the Sandler/Jennifer Aniston romantic comedy. The move also features Sports Illustrated model Brooklyn Decker and Oscar winner Nicole Kidman….

CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 pilot spent Monday and Tuesday filming at the old United States Post Office building on Richards Street which will be the location of Steve McGarrett’s Hawaii State Police headquarters – photos to come – then headed to the National Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl on Thursday. That’s where the production shot the scene of McGarrett’s father’s funeral who in the script was killed by a Chinese gang. The new Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) wore his U.S. Navy uniform (see photo) and in the tumultuous scene is accompanied by his blonde sister Mary Ann McGarrett played by Taryn Manning (also in photo)…

A true friend of the Hawaii production has died.
Bret Johnson, of Torrance, CA, died March 5, in Redondo Beach CA. Bret was instrumental in bringing the initial Jurassic Park film to Hawaii followed by Blue Crush…Johnson was born in Torrance, CA on August 14, 1958 and had resided in the South Bay for the last 51 years. Johnson, a CPA, was senior vice president of physical production at Universal Pictures. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Jennifer; as well as his three children, Fallon, Dustin and Dylan….
His family was his passion, his motivation for success in life derived from his deep love for his wife and children. He is also survived by his mother, Geraldine (Dan) Medrano; his father, Jack (Linda) Johnson; his brother, Darren (Nancy) Johnson; and his mother-in-law, Mary Coleman…
Bret had a passion for fly fishing, sports and the outdoors. The memorial service was held yesterday at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Redondo Beach….
