NBC TO SHOOT PART OF SERIES PILOT ON OAHU

HAWAII FIVE -0 PILOT WRAPS

“We have a hit television series!” a production exec proclaims.

NBC will film four days of its pilot The Event on Oahu starting Tuesday, April 6 using at least two locations, Lanai Lookout and Kualoa Ranch, sources said…

Blair Underwood (above top) plays the United States President on The Event”, described as a thriller chronicled from multiple points of view that centers on Sean (Jason Ritter, below), a regular man fighting his way through the mysterious circumstances of a conspiracy to assassinate the U.S. president (Underwood).

The recently-elected President, originally written in as “a poised Hispanic JFK,” is described as smart, honest, confident and doing a good job at hiding his relative inexperience. He is a family man and a man of faith who truly wants to do good. According to published reports, The Event was first conceived by writer Nick Wauters a few years ago before Barack Obama‘s 2008 election as the U.S.’ first black president…

The Event co stars Sarah Roemer and Taylor Cole (below L&R), Scott Peterson, Zjelko Ivanek, Ian Anthony Dale, and Wes Ramsey

Jeffrey Reiner will direct the NBC pilot as well as serve as an exec producer on the project. Reiner will continue as exec producer and director if “The Event” goes to series.

The film shoots on Oahu for about six weeks before moving to Kauai..A number of crew say the film’s execs are “genuinely friendly” and “professional” to the locals who are loving a stipulation in Clooney’s contract that he gets a 12-hour turn around from the time he finishes his work day until he starts the next day…That means less hours and more rest for crew…
