JUST IN: The $40-million Predators creature feature which starts filming on the Big Island Oct. 12 will star  Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody, who, according to Big Island sources, plays a mercenary named Royce. Other cast members include The Shield’s Walter Goggins, I Am Legend’s Alice Braga, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali from The 4400, and Oleg Taktarov and Louiz Ozawa

The script follows a group of elite warriors who are being hunted by members of a race of merciless alien trackers called Predators…

Brody is a man who ends up inheriting the leader position and is known as a hunter of men. Grace would play an accountant-type whose unassuming facade masks a dangerous serial killer .

Braga is the tough female killer. Ali is a man not afraid to die, Goggins is the loose canon of the group and Taktarov is a former Russian special ops agent…

According to sources in Los Angeles and Honolulu, the Jerry Bruckheimer/Warner Bros. co production of Cooler Kings television pilot for A&E has been pushed to January. No reasons given but both sources believe it’s because of the possible lack of available necessary production equipment with so many features planning to start filing here before the end of the year…HMI, which is supplying production equipment for Island Film Group/MarVista Entertainments’ The Honeymoon, is also providing gear for the $40 million creature feature Predators that starts at least 15 days of filming on the Big Island Oct. 12…Speaking of The Honeymoon, producers have hired Charley Long‘s veteran Private Security team that replaces another company…The Honeymoon has about another 8 days of filming on Oahu…Tom Holowach, manager, Paliku Theatre at Windward Community College, portrays actor Chris Carmack‘s father in The Honeymoon


The Reef’s Chris Carmack returns to Hawaii to star in the cruise ship murder mystery

With pre production for The Honeymoon in full swing, principle photography for the Island Film Group/MarVista Entertainment production began this week  at the Kahala Resort through Friday. Scenes included the wedding between co stars Chris Carmack and co star Summer Glau (right) before they go on their honeymoon on a cruise ship….The Kahala Resort lobby is being filmed as the main salon of the cruise ship…


Meanwhile at the Halawa Valley Studios run by Island Film Group and HMI, carpenters are building a massive cruise ship suite set where the Carmack and Glau characters are staying on their honeymoon…

The $1-million budget feature will film on Oahu for about 18 days…

Filming was on the beach fronting the hotel and at the beach bar/restaurant which was turned into a reception area where a few dozen extras milled around as wedding guest…According to producers, The Honeymoon is based on multiple true stories and not one event…
