KNIGHT RIDER SCHEDULED TO SHOOT HERE THIS FALL

 

NBC’S affection for Hawaii as a location continues. The network and producers of the Knight Rider television show hope to film part of an episode on Oahu in October for about three days. In the show made famous by David Hasselhoff and the talking car KITT, Justin Bruening (below) now stars as Mike Traceur, the estranged son of Michael Knight (Hasselhoff). Mike teams up with KITT—an artificially intelligent Ford Shelby GT500KR—to fight crime in this continuation of the 1980s cult favorite.

 

 

 

One of the main reasons KR will film here is because of exec. producer Gary Scott Thompson (below)

 

 

 

 

who exec produced 106 episodes of Las Vegas including the two episodes in Hawaii at the Turtle Bay Resort. Thompson was so impressed by the location, crew quality, and the overall ease of filming here that he told Reel Hawaii that he would bring a show back anytime the budget would allow for it. Producers are budget crunching to make the shoot here possible…

 

ABC’s LOST moves into its second week of filming season five beginning at the Hawaii Film Studio tomorrow then locations on Windward and North Shore Oahu Tuesday through Thursday…

The three-day filming for the Hawaii International Film Festival’s 2008 trailer – For the Love of Film – begins tomorrow at three Chinatown locations with a stellar group of local filmmakers, many of whom are donating their time and talent to the effort. The trailer is being produced by Shooters Film Production. Jason Scott Lee (below left) and Kelly Hu star in the trailer.

Day one filming features Hu. Tuesday’s filming is on Oahu’s West side featuring Hu and Lee. Director is Gerard Elmore; producer, Darrin Kaneshiro; associated producers: Serena Flores and Mericia Palma. Production coordinator is Lauren Inake. First A.D. is Shooters Film Production owner David Rosen. DP, Anne Misawa; DP/JIB operator, Shawn Hiatt; key grip, Keoki Smith; sound, John Reynolds. Tropic Thunder topped the box office chart in its second week with $16.1 million bringing its total take for the DreamWorks-Paramount Kauai-based film to $65.7 million. Tropic edged out Sony’s comedy  The House Bunny with $15.1 million…
