FINALLY! REEL HAWAII ROLLS OUT

FINALLY! REEL HAWAII ROLLS OUT

Welcome to the new and revised Reel Hawaii, a weekly news collection of Hawaii’s production business, primarily film, television, commercials, photo shoots, and current information about those who work here in the business. The blog will be published each Wednesday though breaking news – and corrections – can be added before the new one is put up.

Reel Hawaii will be mass Emailed — several hundred at first — not only to Hawaii Film & Video Magazine recipients but other production companies, studios, and various executives in Hawaii and L.A. If there’s a specific studio or exec you want to receive Reel Hawaii let us know and we’ll make sure he or she gets it.

Reel Hawaii will continue to be linked from Hawaii Film & Video Magazine’s website as will that publication from this blog. Please send production information, photos, or questions and comments to my Email listed on the site. Any contributions as usual will have complete confidentiality.

Mahalos to HF&VM publisher Jim Baker for his support and encouragement for Reel Hawaii and to Lois Sanborn, the company’s Distribution/IT Manager for her kokua with me in laying out the previous blogs. A special thanks to webmaster Blaine Fergerstrom who designed and helped organize this site and patiently guided me get through the first blog. More importantly, I counted Blaine as a friend and confidant in my previous professional life and he’s here for me in this venture. Mahalo nui loa Blaine…

Finally…this blog is independent of Hawaii Film & Video Magazine and its parent company Media Index Publishing Group. All opinions and responsibility for accuracy and subject matter are mine. That being said I assure you that Reel Hawaii will not back away from controversies affecting the Hawaii production community. We believe it’s important that local industry production news gets to you. If you disagree with anything in the blog, please Email or call me.
